JCMwave Software Tutorial on Nano Optical Device Simulation
Friday, 9 September 2011, 9:00 -13:00
University of Rome "Tor Vergata", Rome, Italy
in conjunction with the 2011 NUSOD Conference
This hands-on workshop is free of charge, however, seating is limited and pre-registration is required. Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop PC with pre-installed JCMwave software. To register for the tutorial and the free software trial license, please e-mail your contact information to jan.pomplun(at)jcmwave.com. You will receive detailed instructions on how to install the software on your laptop.
JCMwave's software package JCMsuite comprises powerful finite element technology for nano optical computations. It provides state of the art simulation tools for all computations of electromagnetic field propagation, heat transfer, and continuum mechanics. Applications range from simulation of VCSELs and laser diodes to solar cells, plasmonic devices, photonic crystal structures, silicon photonics and more. JCMwave focusses on the rigorous, highly accurate solution of Maxwell's equations in complex systems. This allows the optical and semiconductor industry to reach breakthrough designs.
The tutorial will give an introduction and hands-on experience to simulation of nano optical systems with JCMsuite.
Program:
1) Capabilities and modules of JCMsuite
2) Creating a VCSEL mode simulation project
3) Post processing of simulation results
4) Embedded scripting for complex simulation projects and setups
5) Coupled electro thermal simulation of a high power diode laser
