TiberCAD Software Tutorial on Optoelectronic Device Simulation

This hands-on workshop is free of charge, however, seating is limited and pre-registration is required. Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop PC with pre-installed TiberCAD software. Please register here for the tutorial and the free software trial license. You will receive detailed instructions on how to install the software on your laptop in the week before the conference.

This tutorial is open to anyone interested in using tiberCAD multiphysics/multiscale tool for the modeling and  simulation of  electronic and optoelectronic devices. TiberCAD is a software package for the  simulation of  semiconductor devices such as laser diodes, light-emitting diodes, solar cells, photodetectors. Attendees will get a hands-on experience of tiberCAD capabilities by creating and solving step-by-step physical models of  realistic semiconductor devices.

Program:

• The tiberCAD graphical user interface -- all the steps from creating a geometry to postprocessing
• Modeling of heat transfer, transport, strain and piezoelectric phenomena in semiconductor devices
• Modeling electronic and optoelectronic properties of nanostructures based on quantum wells and dots, in an envelope function approximation (EFA) multi-band framework
• Multiphysics/multiscale modeling - the mutual coupling of multiple physics equations
• Introduction to atomistic methods and their multiscale coupling with continuous media approaches
